Nagdah name has been originated from very old story. Many days ago this village has three sons, but due to some natural calamity one son died in the child hood. Later when the land is being divided in the two sons then village panchayat decided to make three parts of the land. Suddenly one snack appeared and sits on the one part of the land. In that part a beautiful lake is made. From then onwards this village name is called “NAGDAH”.

Madhubani top 3  Durga Temples are Raj Rajeshwari Mandir (Dokhar), Bhagwati Temple (Nagdah) and MAATA DURGA MANDIR (Uchaith) .They all are in same line as per map and having  spiritual importance.

Pran Pratistha of Hanuman Temple has completed in full grace and divine on 13th May 2013. It’s done in a beautiful mandap which is made in front of Shiv Temple. The main group of Pandits who completed this puja are as below:

This edition gives you all update of Hanuman Temple. Finally with the help of village peoples “Hanuman Mandir” is ready. Today (12  May, 2013)  Hanuman Mandir Kalash staphana process is started exactly at 8:00 AM from the Bramha Stahan follwed by Durga Mandir to Shiv Temple.

This year (2013) Nagdah village has seen a memorable Shiv Ratri Puja .First time in the history of Nagdah in ShivRatri Rally of 1 km had made.

Around more than hundreds of people participated in the same. The youth, child, elders and ladies support to this is immense. The Rally started form Brahma Sthan in evening and it takes more then 2 hours to reach Rally to Shiv Mandir.The Rally comes via Durga Mandir.

People enjoyed a lot and villagers has celebrated this puja in a great style and unity.

The main role played in organizing this is done by Sri Nand Kumar Jha, Sri Krishna Kant Jha and Sri Gulab Jha.

In this edition, I am going to describe the Major persons who have highlighted Nagdah village name and fame.

      Industrialist Udaya Mohan Jha (Mohar Jha) is an entrepreneur who has wide range of factories in Delhi and NCR area. Recently he has got license for Lohat Sugar Mill, Madhubani.

      Dr Prabhakar Jha S/o Late Dr Subdhra Jha is an Ambassador of Republic of Madagascar.

      Shri Daya Nath Jha and Budhi Nath Jha are famous poet and writer in Mathili. Even they have hosts many Vidyapati Samroah and other events in all over India.

      Shri Bhav Nath Jha is a famous actor from Nagdah Village. He has worked in many Mathili Films.

      In Year 2012, Nagdah village has organized volleyball Tournament under the Kameshwar Jha Trust.

      Late Gopal Jha is active organizer of the Durga Puja festival in past many decades and presently his younger brother Shri Ashok Jha is the main secretary of the Durga Puja Committee.

      Major Amit Kumar Jha S/o Shri Maharudra Jha is the first Indian Commissioned officer from the Nagdah Village. He is presently in Artillery Regiment as a Battery Commander.

Nagdah is village of lakes. Its surrounded by total 4 lakes viz barke pokher,School lag pokher,Bamba Pokher,Angregiya Pokher. Nagdah is located in 3 Kms form Kapsiya which on NH and 2 Kms from Arer,Madhubani,Bihar. Nagdah has glorious history.From the Independence time  only several freedom fighters are form this village.

Nagdah village has beautiful Durga Temple. Durga Puja festival is the best festival celebrated in Nagdah village in Oct and March months. The “Natak” is played by local boys of village and is the best attraction of the festival as this is directed by the senior people of the Nagdah village only. In this way Nagdah village is provided many artists as well.

After that Chaat Puja is celebrated in “barkie pokher” very well in Nagdah.

Vidaya Pati Samroh is also one of the best celebration done in Nagdah.

Uniity of Nagdah village is seen in the “Bhoj” where Villagers themselves cater whole Nagdah village and even nearby villages in a very systematic way. The best thing is that the food served is done by traditional Indian Style means you have to seat in a place and then pattal and others food is served.

Rasgulla is the famous sweets liked by the Nagdah villagers and in Baraat people generally eat 20-30 Rasgulla easily.
